Five Lakes Juniors – St George’s Chase
Lowest handicapper Tom Arrowsmith assumed the role of St George and set off to kill a few dragons. The dragons, the rest of the field, had to place their dragon flag in the fairway after they had played their handicap plus the course par. Alas Tom, with a handicap of 9, had a 10 on the 8th hole (was it a good idea to try to drive the green Tom) ate up too many shot which allowed too many dragons to escape. However Tom claimed the scalps of Riley Ward and Tom Vass with 113 and 88 shots respectively. The overall scores were so good that it was decided to make the event a qualifier with Ben Clark once again on the winner’s podium with a nett 67. Ben Jewell and Lewis Cookson took second and third place honours both with nett 69. A good days fun and good golf played by everyone.
